Since we were filming up until Saturday 20nd February we
hadn’t made an edit. All we had done was import the clips and rename some of
them. Instead we showed our footage to Debbie. Debbie said our interviews were
very substantial, especially Mark’s from LP Record Store who was extremely
passionate and funny. She also said the framing of the interviews looked great,
which I was pleased with because it was my job. Since we hadn’t got an
interview from Josh the young 20 year old collector, we explained our concern.
However Debbie said we had enough footage and interviews for a five minute
documentary. Debbie suggested instead of having the young person’s perspective,
we would have to tell it from the older generation’s opinion only, and she
believes that we have enough footage already to do this. She helped us work out
a plan for the edit, and we have now decided we will cut the documentary by
having each interviewer answer the same questions simultaneously. This will
work well as some of them contradict each other. We explained we haven’t got
shots of Rodger’s collection yet, and she said it was very important we got
this. Lastly she explained that it was important we transcribed each interview
so the editor can easily cut the clips up. I will transcribe Mark Richardson’s
interview, Phil is transcribing Rodger’s and Josh is transcribing Andrew’s
interview.
